This best-selling book recounts the many years of Rich Beechler’s life, starting from humble beginnings in a simpler time to the present.
This book recounts the many years of my life, starting from humble beginnings in a simpler time. A time when education took place in one- and two-room schools, plumbing was a luxury, and wells, outhouses, and backyard gardens were just part of everyday life.
It is a story of broken families, constant moves from state to state, and growing up in a world that became more dangerous the older I got. A life shaped by a steady diet of alcohol and drugs, where hope was nonexistent. No education, no family, no work history, and no future.
My health, mind, and spirit had deteriorated, and I was convinced I’d never accomplish anything or become anyone. I reached a point of such devastation and loneliness that the idea of killing myself gave way to a strange acceptance — I was satisfied with how I was dying.
Then, in what seemed like a single moment, God reached down, grabbed me by the collar, and said, “Rich, I’ve got something else for you to do today.” And what a day it has been.

Rich is truly an inspiration to anyone who thinks their life can't become better after all the awful things life can throw their way. I happen to know Rich now and am honored to call him 'friend’.
This book is touching and one mans struggles only God can redeem. Anyone in Rich's shoes can turn their life over to the one who created them for Himself.
I had a hard time starting the book because I am not much of a reader but when I did, I could not put it down. The many short recounts of Rich’s experiences in life had me captivated.
I loved how it was just an honest recount of his experiences, tragedies and life in general and how through it, he finally found the meaning of life for him! Bravo Rich!
